We get a lot of questions about what we do, when we tell, we are asked what do you mean pasture farrow?? Here a few picture of our farrowing pastures.

In the winter we use small pens that are in a revamped chicken house, we bed the sows on straw in a 4x5 pen. The sows get turned out 2Xs a day, and get cleaned every 3rd day. We usually wean 14-21 days old. We also A.I. certain sows for show pigs for a few local 4-H kids, including our daughter, and for the Minnesota Spring Barrow show.

We always enjoy this time of the year. Below is just a few pictures of one of the sows that farrowed 12/24/2008. The sow in the pictures below was bred and farrowed on the farm. She is "Grimm" bred.  The sow pictured below was hand picked to be A.I.'d to a Triple B boar, Grizz, who is a black excotic out of a sow called The Beast X Moody Blues.
